Time Flies

Okay, so I am a little slow at posting as my dear friend points out. . .

Baby S was born on Monday, April 21 at 12:49 pm, weighing in at 6lbs 8oz and 20in. She is perfect in every way except size. She is so tiny! I got to go home from the hospital on Wednesday. The picture is her going home from the hospital. The funny thing is this is not what was bought for her to come home in. I had something else very cute planned, but given her size we had to change the option. There are not a lot of preemie clothes in BCS! I am feeling okay and anticipating getting the 19 staples removed tomorrow.

We had a nice weekend, Allison and Jennifer came from Dallas to meet the newest addition to the group, Baby S. We had a good time chatting and going to the splash park in Bryan with all 7 children. The group is so fun to watch, all of their personalities and the fact that my children do not see the others all the time, they always just seem to re click. It is amazing!

I really would like to reinstate arranged marriages, Allison's oldest daughter and the Z Man make the cutest couple. Jennifer is a little jealous that Allison and I may get to be mother in laws! I can only hope, right!

Well, I will attempt to post a picture of Baby S, Allison's will be much better than mine, but here goes . . .

Hmm . . .

It is Sunday afternoon, everyone is asleep except me. I have been out and about running errands in anticipation of tomorrow. I do not know why I feel like I have to get everything done, but I do. Last day to redeem the Gymbucks, groceries to buy, target supplies, etc.

We had a girls day yesterday, my Grandmother, my Mom, Mya and my sister-in-law, Gretchen. We ate in the Garden District and then had a pedicure, very relaxing. The boys, my Dad, my brother, Adam, Robert and the Z Man went to the Maroon and White autograph session and then to lunch at Chicken Oil.

Everyone is ready for Baby S, except me. I am so nervous. I guess the fact that I know what it is like to have a c-section and the bad experience when I had Mya, just a tad nervous. I also, seriously hate the hospital. Is there not away that I could just do this outpatient? Well, I will post more on Baby S and maybe a picture when I get home on Wednesday or Thursday.

A Long Day

It has really been a long day.

I found out first thing this morning that my great grandmother "Tiny" passed away last night, she was 101. Obviously at her age this is something that can be expected at some point, I just do not know why it had to be now. I know that she is in a better place and is not suffering. Until last Thursday she was completely fine, they think that she had a massive stroke in her sleep on Thursday night. No matter when it is still hard. I think that what makes it harder for me is that I am not able to attend the funeral, since I am due with Baby S in a few short days.

We have always been close to her, she was the most loving person that you could meet. A lot of people say that I had a lot of her traits. She was a very tall women for being born in the early 1900's. She was about 5 feet 10 inches. I would have been as tall as her if I had not broken my hip. She also had very large feet for a woman, 9 1/2 , I wear a 10. Everyone else in my family has small feet. We used to spend a lot of time in the summer with her at her house in San Antonio. She and my great aunt lived together for years after their husbands passed away. They believed in a big breakfast and lunch and then just a snack for dinner. They went to bed early with rollers in their hair and always used Oil of Olay. They did not believe in using a dishwasher, that was for storing bread, I know odd. They only bought Coca Cola in glass bottles. I have so many fond memories of her that will last a lifetime. She made the best Pralines, she was a true Southern women.

On top of it work is crazy and I only have three days left in my mind to conquer the world, I have to just come to terms that it cannot be done.

Finally, to sum it all up I have gotten sick. Plenty of our students have respiratory infections or strep! Wonderful!

Here's to a better day tomorrow and fond memories of the great grandmother I loved so much. "Tiny"!
